  • Long term Mk2 Mex rebirth.

Here's a pic of my mex when I stripped it down. I've Owned the car since I bought it from Ian Harwood in 1983. Took the car off the road in about 1988 due to the usual family coming first. This pic was taken around '96.

After a disastrous sand blasting encounter soon after this pic was taken, the shell has now been rebuilt and delivered back home today.

What a transformation from the first time I saw it, looking superb. Most people would have given up on it after the blaster made it resemble a beach, not because of the sand, but because of the ripple effect on all the panels
    Glad you stuck with it

How did the sandblaster manage to get ripples? Looking nice now by the way!

Ive seen an rs2000 ruined by a blaster, either the media was too coarse or the pressure was too high. The rear quarters were all wavy and most of the metalwork looked like it had been fire damaged.

The paint job was done by SP automotive in Tattenhall near Chester.
