  • Mk2 Cortina

Our latest commision is this unusually clean mk2 Cortina 2 door, previously owning the car many years ago he purchased it back after it sat in a front garden for years surrounded by weeds. Delivered already dismantled and stripped by the owner we have a few repairs to carry out before we can prep it for a full inside out repaint.

A large section of the inner frame of the bonnet has corroded away.

Two new sections have been fabricated and grafted in.

A section of the boot has also sufferd the same fate as the bonnet.

The wing is in need of a small section replacing.

What a cracking job, is that Blue Mink or Silver Fox? I had a Lotus in Blue Mink, suits them well. John

I believe its original colour was blue mink but it is now Moonstone blue.

I'm not a fan of non original colours but I must say it really does look good! Is it slightly darker than the original then?

Some of the 1970 colours are awfull such as the metallic brown.
