No the tubs arnt from rallyweld! To be honest we've had a few problems getting some parts to fit! We've remade many of the parts ourself! On our next shell we'll make them all!
Starting with a good shell is half the battle! It really has been a pleasure to weld! We're just deciding on what to do about the roll cage! It needs to be used on MSA and FIA events,

I've found Rally Welds products fit with no problems, although you always have to do some fettling for best fit.

I decided to fit the homologated and certificated Safety Devices multi point bolt in cage as fitted to the works Escorts, no extra bars so should have no troubles with scruts at MSA and FIA events.

Yeah we did look at that roll cage, its a known cage as well, just looking at other options, may make our own, and get it certified, quite easy to do really, and worth it if we turn round a few shells,

Shell I put some more photos up! I don't want to bore people, don't know if this is something many people are interested in,

I'm very interested, you've already motivated me into adding some extra welds to the front end of my project.

                If you need it,

I have the MSA paperwork for the SD multi point bolt-in for a turreted car including the 2011 additions for the extra bars.

Well rallyreturn that's good to hear and nice work, thedman that would be great I wouldn't mind them to look at,

Duratec John I'm working to the 1970's Escort build manual, with a bit extra,

As you can see we've removed the standard seat boxes, this was for weight and to make room for the fire extinguisher bracket were going to make and fit, our bracket will also add strength.
It says in the reg's that you can fit an exhaust tunnel, it can be 2" X 2",

The four link boxes took some fitting, and see the fire wall brackets, we've had to remake them, they were a poor fit, we have also had to re make the alloy fire wall, the bend where it fits the parcel shelf was way off, so we just started again,

We want to smooth the fuel filler cap over, but if we mig it, it will distort the rear quarter, so we'll have to braise or tig it,

I agree very nice work, took me 3 years to get to that stage

The exhaust tunnel is fine if it's a BDA engine, so is the 6 link.

Are the nuts welded to the inside of the rear arches to fix a plastic protector, if so I would like to see photos of that please.

This site is worth visiting for Historic information.

                      Please keep the photos coming

Wish I was aware of the quarter warping when I welded mine...

Watts linkage is not homologated on the Escort RS, which are the 650 Group 4 papers. I am not sure if it was ever used on a Mk2 under the 1605 Group 2 papers - just something to think about for FIA events.

There are a lot of things in those which you can't have on FIA evens, they were written by a Clown from Cinderford !

Wish you could get all the right information in one place, I've read and been told so many different regulations regarding things like the roll cage, gearbox/diff tunnels and brakes..
