Do you have the unique steering wheel ?
Great to see those pics, they remind me of the second Sport I had, which was white too. Keep them rolling in.

Yes these steering wheels were introduced to the whole range around 1972, and the Sport was given a very nice leather bound version which was also fitted to the 1300E. On later versions late 73 onwards the steering wheel was changed again and cheapened by just fitting a leather bound to the hard standard wheel, which in my view spoilt the look and feel of the wheel.

      unique feature

Well one unique feature i haven't replicated would be the black back panel,i
could always do that i suppose but am not quite sure if i should .The other feature is the spare wheel on the post in the boot, though i have lost the post.

Yes this was one idea I did not like as it took up a lot of useful space on the floor in the boot. I quickly made a bracket so I could fit it tilted in the wheel well.

Yes I thought it was a lovely steering wheel, none of your moulded rubber here, just leather bound over rubber on the rim. The later one as I say was leather over the standard hard finished wheel, so you did not have the flat silver spokes exposed next to the rim which you can see here.

Mine came with the original steering wheel, although it could do with some restoring, the stitching is coming away & also the silver spokes are going rusty was thinking of putting a springalex on instead unless I can find someone who can recover the original..

There are guys around that will make a nice job recovering it for you. I remember speaking to one at the Tatton Park Show in Manchester, there must be others around too. Maybe the rust might clean off the spokes, or you could silver them up with something! I think they were originally a brushed alloy finish. Personally I think Springalex is probably more suited to the earlier Mk1's and I do love the original, but that's just my (bog standard) thoughts!
