Another nice car Gary, Soft spot for Mk2 Mexico's, had a look at a green one at East Meon back in the early 90's.
If you need a good /great paint job contact graham foster at Williams Garage, Otterbourne. He has worked on some lovely and rare Mk2's and doing some work on BarnRS mexico at the moment.

No problem mate get yourself over for a look your welcome any time.. I'm starting it this saturday and will be doing it every sat morning and maybe one or two nights a week..,. It's in my mates unit bodyshop now I've got myself a nice corner out of way.. so happy days just msg me when you are coming it at barnsley.. don't no how far it is from you..

Cheers Mark, the early 90s was when i sold my last Mexico, white though and on a P reg . Ill bear that guy im mind when im at that stage, Otterbournes not to far from me

Might be a bit premature

But just got these of FleaBay for 40 quid



Not a rip or mark on them, the only thing is the drivers door like embossed line thing, i may lift this up and try and glue it from underneath maybe

The rears are pretty good too, just two tiny holes in one for somereason, a little patch anda lick of paint Pretty pleased with these though

£40 for a set in black is deffo a steal, well done, I would we well chuffed with them too. Now crack on and get some work done on the mex lol.

the clocks ya got are for a later mexico.....but id be happy with them...good buy on the cards...they look pretty good....

as for the sunroof....IMO take it out but ya dont need to do a full roof skin job....make a template for the ope and gas weld it in...ive seen this done and it saves alot of grief and time....if your not comfy doing it get a good panel beater to do it for you....its a much better job.....

were the hell are all these signal green mexico's coming from???? .....get some pics up of your car chris n start your own resto log

A Signal green is the best Mexico to have , I would say that since I have one as well .

Lol, Tony ive just been looking at your resto thread , that is some awsome repair work there mate , do you do that for a living ? also Ive just bought a mig welder, a clarke 140e only cheap but do you recon it will do the job ? gonna have a go at welding myself

still unsure bout that roof why do people wanna get rid of em ? to get back to factory spec i spose ? also whats the difference in the clocks ??

Sunroofs usually leak and shells are stronger without them. Think clocks have different coloured needles on early and late. Orange and White iirc
