  • ford cortina mk2 1600e major resto

    hi guys here is a ford cortina mk2 1600e. g/car.
    it was cheap to buy and has been of the road for over 10 years now.last tax disc 2000.it a s1 model and on a g reg so tac excempt.
    car will be fixed on a budget so some parts will have to be made.as panels for these s car are pricy and sometimes hard to find.trying to aviod express.
    here s few pics when a pick it up a few weeks ago.







    maybe not everyones cuppa tea this.
    but it suits me always loved these cars.will spend 2 years on this one restoreing it.
    work has been carried out in the last wk will post pics soon.

    I think they are great cars. Was admiring a lovely lotus mk2 this evening at a classic meet at the pub opposite my house.

      Ye there not many mint ones left maybe out there. Always wanted one but would rather
      Restore one.than buy one that didnt need work

          Nice
          funnly enough the parts for Mk2s are probably the easyest to get and cheaper than Mk1 or, 3 Es are the most prolific it's the lower specs specific parts that are hens teeth, good luck with it, try BuySellCortina for parts if you get stuck

            looks like a nice project that bud, always liked a mk2 tina, saw a nice one on wednesday cruise along the sea front at scarborough. keen to see some more pics

                  There becoming like buses in the space of a week that's the 4th 1600e I've heard of being restored..

                    one my most liked cortinas dont think 1600e was sold down here? but NZ got a model called the gte,

                      had a half day on it yesterday repairing inner wing.

                              wee bit of plateing here.
                              car is getting fixed on a budget .so need to make do with some raeas in repairs.
                              wont be a show car but soild and hopefully rot free.
