  • Got a bit more done, cleaned up the welds on the repair section i put in & gave it a coat of zinc primer

    • Made a start on the flitch plate & wing rail.
      Clamped in place & welded on,

      • And fitted new wing rail.



        and finally fitted underwing reinforcing plate & gave it all a coat of primer.

        • Looks nice that mate keep at it, i have one bit of constructive criticism tho..... If Your not planning on blasting the car best to use etch primer rather than zinc primer as the zinc doesnt get a good hold of the steel, u may notice once its dry you can rub it off with your fingers, however if you are planning on blasting it take no notice of what ive just wrote

            Cheers! yeah i plan on getting the shell soda/media blasted soon when i can find someone over here to do it, just using the zinc primer on it to keep the surface rust off it for now.

            • Got a bit more done on the sport, found some rot around the nearside anti rollbar mount that needed to be cut out

              more rot on strengthener plate

              • cut out all the rotten steel, cleaned up the solid areas that had surface rust & gave that a coat of some rust killer then gave it all a coat of weld-thru primer

                • made up a repair plate for underneath the box section clamped & welded it in

                  then made up a strengthener repair plate out of thicker steel, clamped & welded in


                  cleaned up & a coat of weld-thru primer

                  • then made a repair section to go on top, took a lot of fiddling around with it to get it to fit properly
                    all clamped on & ready to weld..

                    then smoothed down welds & given a coat of primer

                    • next i needed to sort the front section of inner wing, moth eaten & rusty,
