    Welded on & smoothed down welds

                      • Cheers for all the nice comments . Got a bit more done over the weekend.
                        Before i could fit a new wing rail i've had to sort out some rust & glassfibre underneath the slam panel.

                        And also removed the remains of the front panel, while doing that the front crossmember came off with it ! I found it had only been welded onto the bottom edge of the front panel, the rest was just loose!

                        • Good news is the front crossmember is almost like new & even looks to be genuine ford, with the sticker still on it! So that can be cleaned up & re-used .

                          • Cut the rust & filler out of the inner wing/slam panel area & cleaned it up,


                            Then made up a repair section, then clamped & tacked in place

                              • Great to see the bodywork being joined back together by those lovely pieces of shiney new metal! Wouldn't you just like to meet the guy that originally filled the car with that glassfibre, and show him how it should have been done?
