Cheers all for the comments! I've been cracking on with the sport, got some more colour on over the weekend...done the door shuts in topcoat, finished off the inside & satin blacked the dash.

I also got inside the boot & engine bay in topcoat, Its not perfect but I'm really happy how its turned out considering the state the shell was in..









I'm thinking I will probably have a go doing the respray myself as I don't have the funds to pay someone thousands to put some paint on...

I think you are well capable Stu and you will soon get a feel for it!......as you've been told, give it a try! As long as you are not painting on dirt then you can always flat any little errors down when it's dry! It's coming on great and good luck with the paint!

Yeah, I'm going back to the pod rev counter as thats what it originally had & its a rare thing!
I've been trying to decide whether to go slightly modified or completely standard spec, it had been lowered & had a 1600 xflow when I bought it. I think this one will have to go back to standard though as an early Mk1 Sport is so rare. So I think it will have to be standard 1300GT engine, suspension & ride height & balloon tyres I've got a set of 5 1/2 J steels for it as the original 5J steels were missing, just got to track down a few more bits & pieces for it once I've sorted through what I've got/need for it.
