  • Thanks a lot Guys, Im liking your Orange Sport siggy pic Mr Dusty
Had a good afternoon on the car today, flatted down the first coat to see what needed sorting and thankfully it wasn't looking bad, so just applied a thicker 2nd coat and once that has been rubbed down I reckon it will need one more primer coat and then I can get the heater bubble back into place and get the wings back on and then under bonnet can have some colour added yippee

Also put some stone guard on the rear of the wings, one has had a slight reaction to something as you can see in the pic, so that will need cleaning and doing again

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

      • If ya rub that wing down where its reacted tony then try and then try a few very light coats of stone guard and slowly build up the cover, I've had similar things happen before think the stone guard must have a high thinners or solvent content. I've seen it before in the past if people put really thick coats on it shrinks and crazes/cracks badly when it dries out. Will be nice to see the bay in colour. I need to get back on with mine again!

Thank you Jon and Davey, at last im beginning to see light at the end of that long tunnel.
Ok, we are getting to the serious bit now, this is when it has to look right lol, so this evening I put some colour on the car and the back of the wings which are now ready to weld back onto the car along with the heater bowl which has had its underside painted in colour too.
            Hope you like...

                  • Awww thanks Guys, and thanks for that pic Dusty, hope this one looks something like that when I have it done, im getting there slowly, pity its not the finishing coat though lol

A big milestone for me today, at last I got the heater bubble welded back into position which means I can get some paint on it and then once im happy I can then put the final coat of paint on the whole of the under bonnet area and then move onto the inside.

                        • Thank you Mark, with a bit of luck I should have the under bonnet area finished this weekend

Well spotted Jon, I didn't mention the scuttle on my last post as im having a think of the best way to do it at the min, im not sure wether to weld it back on now or to bond it back on after I have finished painting the heater bowl.

                              • Managed to get a bit more sorted today, heater bowl now almost ready for some colour, sort scuttle next, and then should be able to get the wings welded back on
