Yeah Tony that was another of my thoughts at the time. I couldn't turn it down at £250 plus it came with it's type 9 box so hopefully it will remain good on strip down

floor totally finished today including fitting seat boxes. I was a bit strapped for cash after buying the pinto so i had to make my own seat boxes rather than get some off escort tec. Considering the only took a couple of hours to make i was very happy with how they turned out. This pic was the best of the origionals

I managed to drill off the captive nut part from the origional seat boxes and spot weld it onto my homemade ones as seen in the next pic with the poorest of the origionals for comparrison.

And a pic of them fitted

Also spent a bit of time cleaning up the bulkhead panel i got off tonyrs2 to sort my gearbox tunnel out along with one of the donor rear tubs as they are next on the list and hopefully will get them in the shot blaster over the weekend prior to fitting.

obviously they are not exact copies and i wasnt that bothered about drilling all the holes in them so they looks like factory spec just going to drill one 15mm ish hole in them so i can fire some cavity wax into them.

You have made a good job of those mate, I would deffo be happy with those. I managed to buy a pair from flea bay for £30 plus p & p earlier this week and they are also spot on.
I will be happy when kermits floors look as good as those on your car

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

Nice one, bought one today from Lidl, £16.00, had a quick little scrape and seems pretty good. Green 76 Mk2 Mexico, you may have see it on ebay a few times , just a shell basically and needs plenty of work/welding but it is an original Mex.

Yep I've seen it a time or two nice project. Chisel scraper makes life much easier than trying to do it by hand

Haha best thing to do is lock the garage doors so nobody can call in for tea brakes and just crack on. I've had the bulkheads blasted and been working on rear tubs.

been meaning to upload these for days so here ya go. drivers side half tub removed ready for donor 4 door tub. Had to make a couple of repairs to the bootfloor as it was a tad crusty where the tub meets it in a couple of places then gave it a coat of zinc primer

new tub cleaned up ready to trial fit

                                tub clamped into position

and a pic from the inside

passenger side one all cleaned up now ready to go in but still need to remove the old half of origional tub. Hopefully welded into place soon but need rear arches off x pressed to check fit before the final welds. Think they will be fine tho and hopefully wont have to add a piece into quarter as the arches are slightly more generous than spurious ones.
