Had a few hours here and there to get a few more bits done
Finished brake fluid tank and got it fitted and plumbed in, well chuffed with it
Peddle box fitted
Redone a load of wiring in engine bay and got msd back in
Started making a heat shield to protect cables etc from exhaust
Not much left to do now

beautifull mate, love this car, if my car was straight enough to paint black it would look similar but would never be anywhere near as good as this one, well done nearly there now.

Worth it tho.

Dont see many mk2 mexico's in black, probably count the one's left on your fingers?

They were never officially available in black.
Mine was reshelled at about a year old with a rs service shell that was supplied from factory painted black.
Original colour was signal green but its been black for longer so kept it black.
Would love to find the first few owners to find out the whole story.

Not sure how true this is but I was told that you can write to the dvla and ask for details of previous registered owners of your car, fee maybe involved tho

Yes I,ve got all the dvla history. V888 form and a fiver.
None of the keepers still live at the addreses.
Makes for quite interesting reading when theres 12 previous owners!
Usefull for finding out the supplying dealer as well

Well after 2 years she,s running again :-)))))))
After 2 years disconnected the battery still had power to turn it over plugs out to prime the oil system and start it!!
Fired first turn of the key, 6 bar oil press at idle and no leaks or strange noises.
Need to run it a few more times and re adjust tappets and set timing and mixture/ idle speed.
Few more small jobs and its test drive and mot time.
Hopefully get a few months use before winter
