All stripped and off to the panelbeaters for:
      - New slam panel and front panel
      - New drivers floor
      - AVO strut top plates
      - Dreaded tim worm around door hinges and usual places.

Said this last time but next rebuild, I'm gone to get it sand/soda blasted!.. Forgotten how many painted surfaces there are.

This has got to be the slowest build in history...

Car's back from panelbeater de-rusted and new floor.
          Rollbar and seat mounts sorted

Dummy fitting of Type 3 gearbox and single piece driveshaft

          Front suspension nearly sorted

Got to sort out gearbox mount next.

(Photo slightly out of focus - sorry)

Off to get painted next $$$

Looking good. I'm from Hamilton and run a Mk1 in local club events. I'll look forward to see your car running soon.

Thanks Bill. At least another 12 months away unfortunately unless I win lotto tonight.
Which club do you belong to? Raced at Hampton yet?

My mate lives in NZ he moved over from england and now owns STADIUM CARS he also rallys a newly built bdg escort. Dont know whether you may of heard of him or not. Tony gosling....his escort is a stunner, think HAYDEN PADDEN took it out on its first rally not too long ago.

                                Mk2rs2.
Yes have heard of Stadium motors and the Escort that Hayden Paddon drove in Rally Otago. We are going to Spain for the last round of WRC with Hayden Paddon tour.

I am in the Hamilton Car club. I have a very busy month coming up in August. I'm doing the 2wd classic rally which is based at Taupo on 4th of August. The next weekend is Hiwi Road bent sprint then have a rest the next weekend before dual sprints at Taupo then Dual sprints at Taupo.
What motor will you run in Mk2?
My Mk1 race car is an RS2000 replica and I have a very standard 1977 Mk2 1600 Sport. I see a very similar car for sale on trademe.co.nz at present. This car is a sister to mine and looks to be in the same sort of condition.
