Here is my new Mk1 project, Its a 1968 steel bubble arched mk1 running a 2.1 pinto 50's, lsd, coilovers, the usal kinda stuff!

Plans for it are to strip it down and do the stuff needed and put my own touch on it,

New wings, front arches and front panel and other general repairs.
Respray her white with gold 13in comp ml's, 9in on the back and 8in on the rear.

The 1st update wont be for a while due to needing to order panels and parts ect

Here is a few photos, the 1st is just one that i found on the net of when a previous owner had it,

Got a wee day on the car today, removed the pinto and carbs ect and cut the n/s wing off to see what was lurking underneath.
A couple of rough wee repairs in the past to flitch and the verticals, also some rust on the hinge panel. Will all be cut out and replaced niceley!

Hopefully get another look at it tomorow and get some panels bought the start of the week!

Here's a few pics, not much to show rite enough!

      Wee update.............

Got a good bit of time on the car this weekend and got the bulkhead/flitch repairs all done.

Some of the repair panels i have got are expressed and are good quality but the other stuff is magnum and is pretty crap to be honest!

I had to add 20mm of metal to the r/h edge of the flitch and the corner profile was out bt a mile! took a bit longer to do due to having to fix these wee bits and bobs.
Apart from fitting the bit that the bonnet hinge bolts to during the week thats the whole bulkhead/hinge panel and flitch done.

Hopefully get a bit of time in the next week to start on the n/s inner wing top repair and verticals

      cheers,auld

                      Long overdue update!!

Sent the mk1 to James at South West Restos in Banwell a few weeks ago to have a bit of work done. Cant recomend him enough, very good standard of work!

So had an update from him last nite,

4 link boxes are in along with gussets
Round rear turrets fitted with the chassis scalloped so the car can sit nice and low!

Also been buying a few bits, 10x13 rear comp ML's and 8x13 fronts along with some Bilstein rear coilovers

Will let the pics do the talking, hope you like..............

                      Cheers, Auld

                          Another we update folks!!

The rear firewall and turret infill sections are done and looking very nice!

James at South West Restos fabricated it and added some nice swaging to the panels to stiffen them up and add a bit of detail!

The alloy panel isnt fully riveted on yet, just a few screws holding it. The wee ripples wont be there once its riveted.

Anyway here are a few pics......

                          Cheers,auld
