  • Winter project.

Hello all, here is my winter project, every time I looked under the bonnet I thought that underseal looks shite, but its done the job,
I`ve decided to bite the bullet and remove everything in the engine bay and basically renovate it all,the engine will be rebuilt and repainted,a 5 speed g/box fitted, all possible nuts, bolts a jubillee clips replaced with stainless steel ones, brake servo stripped and repainted and lastly the battery re-located to the boot as there isn`t alot of room left with the 45 dellorto`s.Regards Gixer1000.

Good luck with it,I want to do the same to XAL 655S soon,i'm getting the battery back under the bonnet as I've put a 38degas on it, you are welcome to the boot battery mountings if you want them.

She just passed the MOT warren so its getting taxed tomorrow, first time on the road in over 2 years. Back end felt a bit slippy on the way back from the mot station with the big balloon 205s on the back!

Nice little project that will make a massive difference to your car

Best way I found to start the underseal removal is to use petrol on a rag

cheers,I have tried various liquids to get rid of the underseal and found that petrol and a plastic scraper seems to be the best, more pics to follow shortly.I need a windscreen scuttle if anyone knows the whereabouts of a decent one.Regards Gixer1000.
