Well, i was loading the car at seven this morning, set off at eight to get to Bicester for nine, bang on, Met up with the guys from Classic Ford mag at Micrographics Design Studies for the photoshoot. What a day, Now i know how Kate Moss looks so good in the glossies. The photographer made the car look fantastic imo. All day, in it, under it, basically pulled it here there and everywhere taking pics. If they use the photo they spoke about for the cover it looks mad. A head on, in darkness with the high beam on, just enough light to catch the profile of the car, with light going inside the car defining the shape of the seats, hard to explain, fantastic to look at on a computer screen, answering questions all day, lots of cups of tea and sandwiches, very pleasent. May make June edition, probably July, cant wait, great day, great experience and knackered
Haven't posted much here Ian - everytime I've clicked on your bloody Worthers thread I've been completed demotivated in my efforts on the minger Jaffa!
Just wanted to say that Worthers is a real tribute to your gut determination to see things through to the end and it's lovely to see the culmination . I hope all goes well whilst you're touring and exhibiting.
In the meantime, the Worthers thread is pretty useful everytime the girlfriend hints at me being an Escort resto nutter, I just have to click on the Worthers story, show her the thread, and all of a sudden my efforts appear more like the level of just washing the car at the weekend!
If it does ever have to make way for new ideas or projects as I know you're pretty open-minded and flexible, for heaven's sake consider "donating" it to some museum.
All the best and hope to see you both sometime in the not too distant future!

Here, don't give all our secrets away mate!!! Sounds like you had a great time mate. I spoke to Gareth and he was nearly foaming at the mouth about your car (he gets very excited!) so I can't wait to see the pics. It'll be the July issue, the June one comes out next week.

thankyou Drew, i must admit, the dipstick and tube were treated to some tlc before they were put in, one of the questions i was asked today was,....? well heres the answer.. dipstick and tube, i,ll leave the question to your imagination
first of all can i say thank you for ian for lettin me come down and see worther for my self
and wow what can i say,the car is stunning a real credit to all involved.had a chance to nose around the car alot closer than you would at a show and it is just stunning, somthing that needs to be seen to appreate it.
the interior smells just how a mk2 should smell inside.got a small look in the engine bay and that is flawless and the underside is just wow, words cant really sum it up.
Made up for you and worthers mate, well done, i waited 7 years to get my Yellow one featured in Retro Ford in Feb of this year so i know how you feel, GREAT innit?? Cant wait to effin see it though!!!!!!!!

ian did you get to do your pose for the mag
Tim, they wouldn,t allow my idea, i wanted to be sporting a Tuscan posing pouch spread across the bonnet, however everytime i tried to get on it i kept slipping off because of the Autoglym Hi-gloss polish. I think they settled for somethings simple, that suited me. Again, a great day and experience, seemed a shame to put Worthers back in the garage, i,d like one of those infinity coves down the bottom of the garden, Jennys back from Africa tomorrow....
can't wait to see a beige rs2 on the cover of classic ford , well done ian whats next for you after worthers?????
I think i WOULD like to do something else, i think it would have to be something very special, Worthers has been done in a certain way, maybe another would be done differently, i think i would put the shiny paint away and get the satin tin out, second time around, i know how and where to improve upon Worthers, if improving is the right word, its finding the right car to achieve this with.
Good seeing you today Tim, i didn,t away till nearly seven
