made an attempt to get it back on its wheels for this week

therefore thought id try and finish the Handbrake and fit the exhaust, and then on with the Prop

I eventually settled on a sierra Cosworth / XR4i cable and to be fair it fitted a treat. some securing brackets were then made to fit opposite the existing adjusting bracket, and then the connection to the handbrake lever itself.
sods law i couldnt find some flat bar to make a connector, however in the "box " was a lifting bracket...............



with a bit of measuring and twisting it seemed ideal for the job










and i ended up with the bit below







and it works very well, although the picture below doesnt really show it off that well due to the angle and the Copper grease, prop fits ok and no rubbing either







next its the exhaust, and having fitted the WCXM i was told that i would have to modify the exhaust i bought and sure enough............ The pic above shows the rough route (note the Briefcase, no, its not THE briefcase) to support the system.

the system (2.5" and twin silencer) had to be shortened approx 2" and the "crossover" extended by roughly the same amount to give sufficient clearance from the prop and four links. I used a slightly larger diameter pipe and sleeved the join before mig welding together , all it needs now is to be ground down and tidied up, but getting there. hopefully finish it off later

filled it with fluids last night, Diff, gearbox, Engine, water, just have the brakes to do, exhaust is almost finished, possibly i can drop it onto its wheels over the coming weekend,


bought some rather nifty wheel bearing covers in aluminium over the weekend, gives it a nice finish than the old ford ones
