Indeed rwd Opel parts are not that easy to get,especially for a Manta/Ascona 400.

We are in to rwd Opels for many years now,mostly Kadett c.
Our latest project was building an A400 phase 2 engine in a full restored Kadett c Rallye 2.0E.
The engine was completly rebuild but we still needed a few parts for it.
that took some time to find them and some serious money.

And period specific rally parts are even more hard to find.
it is unfortunaly not the same as with mk 1&2 Escorts where most parts are still made for.

But Gerard you did a cracking job here! This is got to be one of the finest 400 replica's i have ever seen with lots of attention to details.

It is inside and out an absolute stunner!

If you ever need any help with parts for it,let me know.

Brings back memories, one of our mates had a faded Red 2 door Ascona 16oo SR with red velour trim.
Even had the 400 thingies on the wings and gold alloy wheels. never did see any other two door cars.

It was a bit gutless until anouther mate got hold of it, fitted a 2L engine from a Carlon, uprated and lowered springs and Spax rear shocks from a local scrapyard in Bishops waltham. It used to fly then! and would give the cars of the day a bit of a shock, eg XR3i, XR2 etc.
