Thanks mate , yeah you should go for it , it was a bit fiddly to fit but I`m a great believer in having a go yourself if you can and if you take your time its no problem. I still have a wee bit of fine tuning to do but really chuffed with it and all the more as I did it myself

          • Another wee update , Got the scabby old fuel pump and pipes ripped out

Got a nice new electric jobby and regulator to go in place

Should get it fitted and piped this week once the hoses arrive

            • More progress today , Electronic ignition , fuel hose and seals all arrived so set about fitting the door seals , really tight fit , also got the screen ready to go back in

Started prepping the tank for painting and also stripped the rear shelf again as was never happy with the finish of the vinyl. Repainted it and it looks much better although the pic doesn`t do it justice

Lastly got the fuel pump mounted in the boot but when i went to plumb it in i discovered that what i thought was 6mtrs of hose i ordered turned out to be only 3

So its back to ebay for more hose and fittings

                      • Another update, the rear shelf has always looked really tatty and it was covered in overspray and overpainted duct tape, masking tape and dust
So set about putting it right

                        Before

                        After

Not the most professional job in the world but its a damn site better than before

You are doing one hell of a good job with the car I wish I could achieve such good results with mine.
What do you use to paint the interior , aerosol tins or do you use a full sprayer ? also is it matt black you have used ?
I need to do the interior of mine and the boot as I don't loke white in Rally cars as they soon look messey with dust ,oil etc.
                              Keep the pics coming

Cheers Mark , yeah its just plain old halfords aerosol tins ! , I`m a great believer in having a go of things yourself if you think you can do it. Granted some areas might not look like a professional concours finish but thats not the point an at the end of the day i can say i did it all myself (well most of it). just take your time and you`ll achieve the same results. By the way its satin black .
                                Just go for it mate
