      • LOL, thanks Mark. Still scraping and Tcutting back the layers so didn't want to bore people. But since you asked, getting bored of the inside so made a start on the engine bay.

          • Noticed you were on line this dinner time Carl and thought you may need a prompt to update the resto with some pics of it in finished colour

                • Thanks again Mark. Not quite lost the will to live just yet, but we're getting close! No actual restoration pics just yet, still dragging off the surface crap. I expect to be finished in about a month which, coincidentally, is when some of my finances are freed up. Might be able to buy some gas, a mask, some wire and then finally do something interesting!!! Anyway, some more up to date pics since you asked:

                        • Thanks for your interest Merlin. Not given up - just taking forever to get to the point of actually repairing anything. I finished my scraping then started to treat the rusty areas with Jenolite. I thought I was doing a thorough job - I figured the first task was to stop it rotting any further.

Anyway, it was turning out to be a bit of a Forth railway bridge scenario. No sooner had I reached the end of the job then the parts I treated first began to show signs of rust coming through again. The problem was that I wasn't priming and sealing with paint.

My new approach is I'm working my way around with a Dremmel type thing, completely grinding off all the rust, cleaning, treating then sealing with POR 15. This is leaving a gloss black finish rather than a water based white area.

I see it being years in that garage rather than months so I want to be fairly certain I've put a stop to the decline.

As soon as I produce anything worthy of a picture I'll report back.
