OPEN to OFFERS !
PM Offers Here !
After much deliberation and soul searching I've decided to sell the car , after 10 years (ok it's been sat in a garage for the last 6) I can't justify keeping it any longer. I've tried to get back into the swing of things and I've put most of it back together but I've not got the same passion for it any more, so I'm looking for offers (I've paid my money so no worries about not putting a price on), if I get enough interest I may break it but I really don't want the hassle, PM me with any offers/questions.
Here's the list of things done to it and the parts I have to go with it:
Engine: Block: Pinto, bored to 2.1 and decked to get compression back, crank lightened and balanced. Felpro competition gaskets used throughout.
Head, stage three, big valve (not unleaded) fitted with a Group 1 cross drilled cam.
New water pump, alternator, Burtons top and bottom hoses, spare radiator, spare heater box with fan and core. New battery, round terminals with quick release fittings and also fitted a new "Wosp" high torque starter, it does start, run and move under it's own steam now but needs setting up properly.
Fuel system: Refurbed pair of 45 Weber DCOE carburettors fed by a Facet “red top” competition fuel pump through an alloy filter king regulator/filter, also got a Capri tank going spare.
Exhaust: three piece tubular manifold into a new twin silencer, right hand exit 2.5” system.
Ignition System: currently running a non vacuum, motorcraft distributor with a bespoke mechanical advance, still on points (new points etc fitted).
Gearbox: Type 9 five speed fitted with quick shift kit.
Propshaft: Brand new single piece “rocket/atlas” shaft which is fitted with heavy duty, greasable GKN joints, yet to be fitted to the car.
Axle: English axle fitted with 3.89 LSD, reconditioned 10 years ago, hardly done anything since.
Suspension, front: Bilsteins, roller top mounts, bolt on double width kit fitted to a heavy duty anti roll bar, double yoke bolt on strut brace.
Suspension, rear: single leafs with new poly bushes (not on car at the moment) group 4 (tall, round style) turrets, adjustable coil overs (hence the lack of leaf springs), rose jointed four link kit and panhard rod kit (needs a strengthening patch in the boot re doing).
Braking system: dashboard adjustable (front to rear) bias braking pedal box, standard vented front discs, rear disc conversion: 2wd cosworth callipers with solid fiesta discs.
Wheels/tyres: 15” x 7” superlite alloys fitted with 195/50/15 tyres but to be honest they have stood for so long I would recommend changing them as a matter of course.
Body: standard apart from the rear suspension mods and glass sunroof, comes with a full bolt in cage (not bolted in since having the floor repaired, I couldn’t bring myself to drill the holes in it), had new inner and outer sills (to chassis rails) fitted in 2000, had new genuine Ford full drivers side rear quarter fitted (the bloke wouldn’t sell me the panel until he’d seen the log book confirming it was an RS???) after a coming together with a donkey in a Rover 200 who pulled out on my brother, wouldn't have minded but it had just had new inner and outer arches done with the rest of the work! It's got some bubbling on the front wings as well and the wing rails are starting to bubble up a little but as you will see in the pictures it's no basket case.
The interior is what it is, a thirty year old Escort that's been modded to go hill climbing so it's not mint, it's not a custom just had the dash cut out and the pod fitted, the rear cards are from a pop and the fronts have speakers fitted (no radio though, you wouldn't hear it )
