  • Signal Ginge - engine bay resto!

Well as promised here are the first pics of the rejuvenation of signal gingers minging engine bay. Work started in mid October at my good friend Ady's workshop where we removed the engine and gearbox prior to trailering the car over to Johnny 'The Perm' Peatmans workshop a week later

    Prior to removing the lump

Some good looking guy trying to remove the servo tower

Think you'll agree the engine was a tad filthy

This is Ady my mate and one of my techs at work, loves mk2's but drives a silly american muscle car

Looking sorry for herself ready for the journey to see 'The Perm'

Will post more over the coming days etc. Hope you all enjoy!

Due to losing my Grandad the day after dropping the car off at Johnnys I could not be arsed to do anything with the car until early December. The battery tray was well rotten so Johnny set too with the grinder

Everything stripped from the bay including front suspension.

New battery tray tacked in, much better than the original. (Part of the old one is now on rodders car, pmsl

Johnny had a bit of help from a bloody great big rat whilst he was welding and no it wasn't rodders

Looks bloody good if that engine bay is previously unrestored. Wasn't this car based down in Somerset around 10 years ago???

for once and once only, i gotta agree with Bishops - the car is already finished and the resto pics are taking longer to put up than it took to do the bloody thing
