  • My Mk1 RS2000 RESTO

I bought this late last year, it was sat in my barn till March when i got started on it.

So began stripping it down ready to for some new panels to go in.

First off was to get the o/s inner sill fitted.

Then the front floor pan came out and a new one butt welded in.

Theres afew gaps around the new floor pan that needs filling in where the rot has been cut out. Next is to fit the rear floor pan in. Then the same on the passengerside, once thats done and theres abit of strength in the car i can get the new chassis rails fitted.

                Thanks for the comments guys
Im really enjoying getting stuck into this Mk1. Done afew before but never an RS. Heres afew of my previous Escorts.

And one afew of you may have seen on other forums, my mk1/impreza. I got the chance of the RS2000 so sold this to fund the RS.

As you can see the new owner is cracking on with the project.

I'm hoping to get some done on mine on monday, so will update then.

                  Done somemore this afternoon
Cut the rear floorpan section out, it wasnt too bad, but again had patches here and there that were badly welded on. Think they just covered rust over making it alot worse in the longrun .

Welded the new section in, still have to grind back welds and repair the section at the rear of the inner sill and put afew patches up front where the front floor pan wasnt big enough, then this sides done
