Escort mk2 resto!

I thought I would start a resto thread on this mk2! It was stored for 18 years by a friend who started to prpare it for grasstracking! It had mesh welded in place of the front screen, door skins welded to wings and quarters, has had a sunroof but was just plated up for grassin. I am nearly finished stripping it and it goes for blasting in a couple of weeks. The car will be built into an XE powered rally/road car.
I will keep updating the thread as I go and get some better pics! lol

Well its been a while since i have done much to the mk2 as had so much to do! well The car was supposed to have been blasted a few months ago but due to me neglecting to get it ready its still in old paint!
I have removed the front wings and am currently removing the front panel, on the whole the shell is pretty good but showed its age once wings were removed as bulk head and a posts do require tlc.
I have collected all panels and alloy arches, spoiler, doors and suspension etc

16i is very nice original car, I just store it for my mate as he has nowhere to keep it. cant remember last time it turned a wheel!

Thanks mate, The plan is the track/race look with forest arches, cage, buckets etc and powered by vauxhall XE.
