I too have had a few Triumphs, can't beleive it's been 5 years since I had my Stag.
They did have a lot of issues when they were new but as said above there is a work around for all of them & most cars these days are reliable.
I prefer manual overdrive & they are effortless to drive.

Mines a Manual Overdrive, which is my favourite but, to be honest, there were so few Euro LHD's that I wouldn't have been able to pick and choose anyway.

Wow, How did you get that?.....My favourite colour, Venetian Red with choc interior....Perfect!
Seriously though, I used to sell these new and I loved them....a real class car.
When you bought a class car such as this in those days you really saw something for your money. It was defined by good strong features that were stacked high into the package. Not the tons of lack lustre plastic or carbon fibre you will find today but materials like plenty of shiney chrome, like it or not..a matt finish wood veneer dash but with all the clocks, alloy Wheels, sports leather bound steering wheel, substantial bright trim (stainless steel if I remember right) on kickplates and door pillars etc, twin headlights, hard and soft top option with stylish T shape roll-over bar, optional overdrive, power assisted steering, a V8 OHC engine for plenty of grunt and a body design to die for.
