ok , haven't had a nice bbq since the lakes

a few more hours today, decided to cut the battery tray out as this was welded in the spare wheel well as going to mount the wheel back in there.
No rot under it was a surprise as thought it would rotten with the battery acid and norm waer trap.

looks worst as got a bit of surface rust, all that waxoil works then.

all the boot wire-loom ready to be pulled though into the main part of the car but need to label it up first.
Fuel pump off along with the prop-shaft.

Did find a pdi sticker so the rear panel is the original one so might patch it up rather than replace it

Thats it for this week, need to tidy the garage up and start boxing all the parts up so I don't misplace anything

Did a wee bit more today, finished stripping the front and under dash wire loom.

Thank god I put labels on all the wires and connections, just need to pass the rear section into the cabin then I can remove from the car and fully check the loom and replace where needed.

Bulk head seems not to bad

Norm bits of rust around the heater bubble

so that will be coming off as well soon

All the "little" jobs take so long, running out of room in my garage fast for all the bits so might have to look into renting another for all the parts

This loom does look worse than it is due to the additional wiring that has been added for an alarm or something.

Your doing a great job and remember Badnews' advice....it's a nice interesting thread this and so many of the usual Escorts problem areas are highlighted here.

                  Tim.

                    Thanks for the kind works
Lots of wire has been added in the last 30 yrs, so once the looms out of the car I will strip out what is not needed, replace/repair where needed and clean it all up.

Just going to take my time on the bodywork and repair as I go once car is stripped, do a small section at a time.
