        did get very hot a year ago Tim - richy thinks maybe the springs have given up the ghost - the clutch started playing up at the lakes last year - as said before, it was only a standard Lockeed/Delphi and i think it couldnt cope with the engine and the griippy X wheels etc ............ and the shite driver slipping it all the time

        new one in next week tho

                          all holes and shiney bits taped up and a very light blast using the sandblaster at work on about 20 lb pressure, then gave them a 'brushed' look with a soft wire brush - all the brass polished up with some wet and dry

                                mini update ............

                                last bit of the jigsaw delivered this week -

                                got a k&n filter for the carbs - kind of retro looking, so will suit under the bonnet - hoping to put it all back together early next month after i drop flywheel off to the 'Oracle' for a reface

                                also got some new brake pipe to go in ........... must practice getting the bends right
