1977 BMW R100RS in for a repaint - it got knocked over and the fairing broken.

It now looks like this :




Just waiting for the BMW logos for the bodywork to arrive, along with a regulator, a pair of carburettors, a pair of tyres and then it's MOT time

Not mine, it belongs to a mate who asked me to get around to it about a year ago lol

The red 100 badge is not quite right, but it's all that's available now, it should have a 1000cc blue decal instead.



It's an RS at least



Pinstriping is painted and under the laquer




Some progress, it now runs after a day of re-wiring the 30 year old rotten loom, new regulator and diode board, relays and relay holders

Thanks to Glyn (Mogsmex) for the loan of his bike lift - it's made working on the old girl much easier

The Best BMW bike, remember them when they were new, somebody round my way still has a scruffy RT with a sidecar, what a waste! Don't forget to post pics once it's done.

Just needs a front brake master cylinder repair kit and an MOT now

The all important MOT certificate can been seen under my lid

A short road test to and from the MOT confirmed it to be just as uncomfortable as it looks

Just as well the owner loves it
