After trying the engine in and finding that the alternator wouldn't go in for the battery tray support, I had to take the engine, loom and pipe work back out to cut the support off the battery tray and weld it in further back. Then paint it again and start putting it all back in again.
thanks to the folks from the help page i got the right engine mounts and it all seems to fit a lot better
