this is my mk1 rs2000 ive owned it for a few years now
when i bought it it had been painted thought it was just a put back together job
well it was untill i noticed some blistering to roof skin
got a lad out to look at it got his fingers under paint and peeled roof skin paint off in 1 lump
paint hadnt keyed together so was recomended to take lot off
what a job best way was with heat gun and a stanly blade was on months doing this underneath too
then took all primer off down too bare metal rolled car over and stone chipped under floor and painted along with inside boot and inside car
then the hardest bit of all
car was waiting for bloke to paint it he let me down then went to paint shop in jan this year 6months later car hadnt even been touched
so then went to a lad who was too buisy in the first place to do it
he has had it about 10 weeks and has done what i wanted
got a phone call off him on sat he was putting it in booth to paint
was asked to go through and watchwas over the moon forgot what colour was like he put 3 coats of similar colour on then 2 coats of modena and couple of coats of clear laquer to finish off then it was left in oven over weekend
couldnt wait till tomorrow to pick it up as id only seen it through window in booth
so on way home today called in and caught them flattening and machining
it looks absolutly stunning and lad has final grade to do yet picking it up on wednesday dont think il even dare touch it im well chuffed even my 9 yearold son niall didnt believe it was my car as he hasnt seen it for ages
