  • Javagreen Mk2 resto

Hello all, This week finally sees the starting point of the resto which has been something I have been wanting to do for a very long time now but things have always got in the way! Well yesterday I finally got into my tiny little garage and started work.....

So far I've dropped the front suspension, most bolts were seized so got kinda awkward manoevering most of the suspension out underneath the car! Bushes were as loose as a whores draws so made it a bit easier getting stuff off. Whilst underneath I started to scrape the waxoyl/other layers off to reveal the original underseal. I think it's about 5 mm thick!!! At this moment in time my plan is to have a useable fairly standard car....sure that may change. A few bits of tin worm have been discovered so far. However, this is the first time I've done this sort of thing so it's going to be a steep learning curve!! I will try to post some pics up tomorrow.....
    Thanks
    Rich

Thanks for all the comments....some pics as requested!
I've started to dip some components to get rid of the rust. Some early success but hard going!
Next on the agenda is to get some decent stands so I can get the whole car off the ground. Then drop the engine, box and axle.

                              Thanks for looking.
