This one belongs to a customer, had some issues on the rolling road - the flywheel came loose !! (not off)
Once stripped to get the crank/flywheel double dowelled it was apparent there were more issues with the engine, to quote Mr Tucker of HT racing - "The bores look like they were honed with a housebrick"
Aaron very kindly sorted out the bores with a hone, and dowelled the flywheel/crank also refaced the flywheel/crank faces so it sits square, along with polishing the crank.
Before I started to put it back together I popped the plugs out of the oil galleries and washed them through - the crap that came out was amazing !
New ball bearing in the back of the block, new core plugs in the front two oil gallery holes, new core plugs in the water jacket, new oil pump, rings, mains, big ends, oil seals, spigot bearing, clutch cover and bolts, sump gasket and the bottom end is done.
The head was next on the agenda, it looks to me as if the cam wasn't run in properly, as it is shot to bits, along with the followers !
New HT1 camshaft, followers and spray bar now fitted and valve clearances adjusted ready for re-fitting to the block.
Tomorrow it's: refit head to block, cam timing, fit ancilliaries and run that camshaft in !!
