It is really solid Gaz, and it was fully re-built in 91/92 with new inner and outer wings, boot lid, bonnet, sills etc. But for the last few years before I got my hands on it, it had been kept outside and then in a damp garage, which hasn't done it any favours. Many of the panels have got micro blisters starting to appear in the paint, and I know that if I leave it, there only going to become worse. This way if I do it properly now, I shouldn't have to worry about it for another 10-15 years!

Also i've just found an unexpected air vent in the passenger footwell which needs sorting as well!!!!

It was last painted about 10 years ago Brian, but there's a few little bubbles starting to appear that you can't really see in the photos. They are only minor at the moment, but I know that if I leave it they'll grow into a problem within a couple of years. There's also a bit of filler in the O/S/R wing, which i'm cutting out and replacing with metal.

Debating about chopping the battery tray out and moving the battery into the boot....... What does everyone think?? Will free up some space for a filter king and a pair of 48's!!

Brian - it's not too bad but there are bits which lead to more bits... it'll be a smasher when it's done, a real solid straight shell!

by the way there's no telling what he's got lurking in them drawers......i daren't open them!!!

It's amazing how a broken piston ring can lead to a full on resto!!!

Well while the engine was out, I thought "lets paint the engine bay".......... then you start thinking..........."well if we're painting the engine bay......... might as well do the whole shell"!!!!!! Sound familiar anyone???!!!
