Shifty's mk2 rs2000 rebuild!

things that have been done are...

• Fitted carbon 1/4 bumpers c/w carbon bumper brackets (pain in the ar$e job )
• Fitted oil cooler....another pain in the ar$e job!
• Fitted grill....yip you guessed it...thought it would take 5 mins but oh no!
• Discs,calipers etc on.
• tension strut kit got a lick o paint.
• sump guard got painted and fabricated a towing eye on front of it.
• welded sump guard brackets onto chassis legs.
• fitted heat shield in inner wing.
• ap twin plate 6 paddle clutch fitted to engine
• alternator bracket on engine.
• new spark plugs gapped and fitted in engine.
• timing all set on engine.
• wxcm fitted to engine.
• modified hyd clutch bellhousing fitted to tracsport g/box

and thats all I can remember off the top of my head thats been done over the past week or so when we got time.

As I say engine going in very soon!...just need thrust bearing for clutch and then we should collect the exhaust very soon...then fire er oop!

Got a fair bit done today....

• Tidied up the wireing etc in the engine bay
• Fitted the front brake lines/brake pipes
• ENGINE AND BOX IN!!!!!! WOOHOO!

Well heres another wee update, not too much been done lately as been working on the mk1 getting her ready for Croft however my auld man picked up this yesterday...aswell as a nice bunch of banana's manifold however I aint posting a pic of that just yet for obvious reasons




Also took delivery of two of these bad boys...one for EOO and one for AFX...should be ideal for the escorts..

The heart for my baby



My engine up front and 3 bd's one of which is an evolution engine....very rare!


Me and the main man, John Wilcox...him and his wife Rita are the nicest very professional down to earth folk and I cant thank them enough for the updates they kept giving me and the pics they emailed of the strip down and rebuild of the engine...and also the cup o tea! lol


On the way home popped up the road to get some fancy bits off my mates from Stoke.....these are the boys that have supplied pretty much 90% of the gear for AFX....there knowledge and parts available are endless...plus there gid craic! lol


Got her home and started fitting clutch, flywheel, wcxm, gearbox etc etc...in preparation to be fitted into car..
