Its been all go again although not with the mk2...
The past few nights iv mainly been workin on the mk1...the list seems to be growing as mum and dad are getting a bit carried away wanting to fit some grp4 parts to her now. Better off doin it right just now rather than go back later I suppose
Think she will be going on spit as soon as mines is away for paint. Then il get the underside all seem welded etc and spray white...il spray the outside of this one myself as its mainly just for fun/rally use..although will still be smart
Once its done it will be white outside with black interior...then its headin tae the wids!
All things goin well they should both be ready roundabout march/april time.
Will keep use updated on both builds tho

Time for another update folks!
Now thats us off for the hols we can really get stuck in about both the mk1 and my mk2
Was in the workshop all day today, getting alot done 8-)
Through the week I had finished repairing any bit on pass side of mk1 and gave her a coat of grey primer for now.
Got the brakes sorted on her today and fittied the propper twin throttle linkage, re-fitted wheels and seats.
Will be down off stands tomorrow, for a wee test drive! :twisted: to see how she fairs with that engine and box in etc
Then it will be whisked back into workshop and stripped and put on spit for a good bit of tlc 8-) ...better doing all the work now rather than down the line
My mk2 was getting a good going over today aswell..fitted the propper tubing in front of axle for wcxm mounts.
Now its strong as **** up there!...I can hit sum yumps etc with confidence!...well maybe down the line I will! :lol:
Also last night and this morning I sorted my rear 4link boxes and skids underneath car..wasnt happy with the height of em. Spot on now tho!

Tomorrow she will get all that grey glossed over with the red.
Then we will be fitting the wxcm, fronts struts,steering rack, rear axle etc and get her down on her feet/wheels!!!!!

Well then we've had a good productive escort day today!
1st on the list was to get maw n paw's mk1 out for a wee try...to see if the geabox, engine etc was ok...as we bought the car non running! :lol:
We were all impressed by how she performed although we will be changing the gearbox, clutch and fit an lsd
Heres some pics...

Mum n dad in the mk1...brought back some memories!

After her wee test in the rain she was straight back in and dried off with heaters on
You can see the work iv been doing on this side with the primer

After all that playing about in the mk1 it was time to concentrate on my mk2 again....

We also stuck on a tempory back axle today...dont want to fit the nice shiney stuff incase it gets all offspray!

Hard to get the motivation at times although its times like this that give you that extra push to crack on!

Well then lads, thought I better give you's another small update on the mk2.
Thats me finally got the wee bits n bobs I was wanting sorted before going to paint
So all things going well she will be goin for a lick of the red stuff next week!
