Yeap thats an MT75, aparantly it was the first road gearbox to have a synchro in reverse so you can select reverse at 25mph!!! Don't know why I want to but yea. I didn't have a type 9 so I used this. I haven't seen an MT75 in an escort before does anyone know if it has been done before? Is it better than a type 9? Yea I think i'm gunna go for an XE beacause its cheaper than the rest and easier to get power for less money. Sorry to the purests! I have some more pics on the way, i'm just waiting for my mate to download them from his camera! Max

Sorry I haven't posted any progress for a while, I haven't done much to be honest. Here are a few photos of my English axle. I bought a Watts linkage to fit it but I can't put it on with my axle brace so I've modified it to suit...take a look!

Got a few more things done, still with the crappy phone camera...sorry. I've started on the drivers side of the car now and cut out the chassis rail but found I had to cut out loads of the old one due to it being so rusty so having to make a section of chassis rail to join the new one to the old good bit. Above the leaf spring hanger the floor was really rusty so I've replaced a section and red oxided the welding.
