        Guess that if you buy a new shell you would/could use it to re-shell an old car and you don't want to admit that openly.

          I bought a new shell and rebuilding with as many new parts as i can find, it wont be registered as new but with my old cars 1979 reg.

                    Can't say for certain but I believe the Higgin's shells are fully built in China by the panel press company and shipped whole whilst the MST ones are assembled here using Magnum panels which allows the rally adaptations to be built in rather than 'retro' fitted ?
