There was a piece in last weeks CCW about stolen classics.

They also highlighted the below forum which I think could be useful if more people knew about it, used it and importantly read it. Might be worth adding to this lot as well

    Hope you get it back.

    Stu.

I would assume that either it would've been nicked for a joy ride or thieved to strip for its parts then either crushed or cut up...
As said, these cars can't just reappear somewhere, even worldwide these days thanks to the internet. Still, you never know what these idiots think they can get away with. Hope you get it back tho...

Don't these cars provide a shell for rally car builds/rebuilds?

        Hope you find it btw..

Yet I can't see them crushing a shell that's woth a few thousand notes these days, too tempting to make money out of it I would think! So the chances are that it will end up somewhere.

I would imagine the cars are stripped, parts sold and then the shells are sold as either rolling shells with no ID or they buy tags and a V5 from ebay. That’s why most people on forums are against the sale of tags and logbooks as they often end up on stolen cars and that’s why this forum and nearly all others don't allow the sale of them.

Very sorry to hear about your car, I hope it gets found. Do you know where the nearest CCTV camera is to your garage, maybe the police could check it or if its at a business the owners could check it or lend you the tape.

Put all that on eBay you never know they might be daft enough to buy it

You never know, it's worthless to them if it leads to them getting caught, plus, if the shell is sold as panels, i.e. cut up, it'll be pretty hard to trace I should think.
