  • I've started..what have I done???

Well I started the strip down today
Taken the nose-cone off and cut the O/S/F wing off...the wing was f.o.o.k.e.d so just got the grinder out.
Going to take my time, have giving myself the date of 2012 when it should be back on the road, but do hope to get it done before then.
Here is some pics, took these 1st couple in 2007 when I last had the cone off.

and todays pics with the wing cut off

    one scrap wing

Not to worried about cutting the wings off as both going to be replaced along with a new front panel.

Will up date as I go, might get out to it Tuesday and take the N/S/F wing off.

wing was full of rot plus was split at the base where the wing bolt goes and full of dents, might try a save the passenger one as not looking as bad on inspection but will see.

            cheers for the comments chaps.

            RS-less for now!

cheers for all the "good luck" messages as I'll need them as never done body work before in my life so learning as I go.
1st lesson is grinders make short work of wings

Popped out to it again for about 90 minutes and got the passenger wing off, was hoping to see if this wing could be saved but as soon as I started to take the paint off to find the spot welds chunks of the wing just fell out so thought f.o.o.k it grinder time
here is some more pics from today, took the 1st two as a reminder of how the light brackets go back on, might need that help in about 2 yrs

rust hole at the bottom, thats why my passengers got wet feet

                              looks a bit crusty

car looking sorry for its self

drivers side only got surface rust so happy with that.

Thats it for now, have to make some room in the garage before I can strip the interior, engine, box and axle out of the car.

Who is the best person / company to refurb the seats?
