In all of this that goes on, I dont know who's worse;
The ones who apply for the V5's and selling them on for a quick buck, or the ones who knowingly buy them, adding thousands of value to their vehicle thus making it something it isnt?

When you look at a car like Werthers you know " IF " you wanted to use it , that it wont fail an MOT so why worry
Plus , nobody will ever use it anyway , lol
I did however have it insured with agreed value
I MOT several cars for a wealthy car collector who doesnt use any of them, and he religiously MOT's them every year, they arrive on a trailer and return on a trailer. He has a 246 Dino with 3k miles on it from new, and he is the original owner. He even and still MOT's his pre 1960 vehicles.
I asked him why he bothers and was told the difference to the history is night and day
Might be worth considering keeping all the documentaion up to date

Surely the police will be able to get the applied registered keepers name & address from the DVLA & pay him a visit?
What might be more worrying is someone local who knows the car has applied for it & intercepted your mail in order to get hold of the letter that DVLA sent informing you that someone has applied for it.

I don't know what's worse ?
Applying for a dead logbooks or not driving a complete and working Escort ever ? Both sound barking mad .

Surely it's the ringing of a vehicle with said logbook that's the crime, not the application for a document ?
What bothers me is the amount of logbooks that seem to be floating about where cars have been scrapped or rotted away and people are selling them, fuelling the ringers and theiving b@stards.
