Is there anyway to check if a RS2000 originally built in Germany but been on the continent is genuine? It's Gcat 2.0lL and an rs2000 on the foreign registration but can the Vin prove its genuine?

The VIN can't prove anything that has changed to the car over the years. Get someone in the know to have a look at it.
