I know prices have been going north for quite some time, but a few things I've spotted on the bay take it to a new level!





My favourite is this though - you could buy a car with tax & MOT for that!

Why in god's name would you spend that much on seat belts?
Obviously for a bufty car, but you don't get cash prizes for concours, so I'm amazed people will spend this sort of money!

I think things are being 'bid up' personally... the off shoot of this it that is another load of legit stuff gets put on, all the prices get pushed up and we pay more! its supply and demand... but if you can create a demand and you have lots to sell, your gunna make some money doing this! There is no way you should/would pay that for seatbelts when you could easily get your own refurbished for much less or even have some made identical! for that sort of money you could buy a lot more bits that would actually make sense if you were aiming for prizes!
I also wonder how much of this stuff that keeps appearing as 'new' is not just being remade in a foreign land or summit?!... 40 years sat in some persons loft or garage and theres not a mark on them?! pull the other one! think about it logically ebayers!

I have FOMOCO parts still in packets. Bought from Ford when the parts were available. Not for sale I add! I bought a pallet of headlights 20+ years ago and sold them to proper enthusiasts, not bellends on the make. Probably worth thousands of Pounds now! I use to always let mates have parts at cost. Not all people are on the make. Mostly miserable people on the make now! With my car is worth x amount when really a reshelled Pop! Rant over! When I asked about doors for my RS people wanted £200+ each for crap! So it will all go in the skip!

Quite clearly the best way to get the most cash is simply add one or all of the following to listings!... NOS, RARE, rs2000, rs1600, twincam, mexico, rs1800, rs2600 or rs3100... and don't you just love seeing those adds with some of the above on standard escort bits? eg doors, bootlids etc... Or even the chancers that suggest what they are/might be off, but clearly to the knowledgeable they are nothing close!? lol
