It's time to renew the insurance on my 330d msport my present insurance company swinton rang me and said good news We can bring your premium down £20.00 to £420 p year , just before I renewed it I thought I would go on line and check went on go compare and I got it down to £280 guess who swinton some things just don't make sense or is it me ? Rant over

Just renewed the insurance on my daily driver at the start of the month.
I've been with Aviva for the last two years, no one could get close to them.
So this year my renewal quote was £450, so I rang them as you do, the last two years has seen £50 come off the renewal quote.

The reply I got was that is the best we can do this year. Try online as new customers get 15% off. The online quote was £505 with 15% off. WTF.?

So shopped around the various compare sites, googles comparison site came up best with a quote from echoice (part of more than) for £336, not much difference

Just done my Merc C Class sport 2011 car at £185,and my 2007 Sorento XT at £158 with Zurich on line ,Taken Merc from LV who wanted £290,and Sorento from Saga who wanted £345
Just put details last year on Moneysupermarket.com last year and Zurich came to me.Maybe next year they will try and UP the price,but shop around again time then !

Not condoning it but it's no wonder so many now run the risk and go without insurance.

Licence to print money me thinks and then they blame it on all the claims's (I think they should look into some there own process to cut cost's first)

Car insurance really needs a good overhaul !Every body who is involved in a motor accident is encouraged to claim as much as possible,with the large number of "Claim specialists" all to eager to help us claim Thousands,for bad backs ,whiplash,and claim for all sorts of things that they advise us we need to claim for.
The insurance companies themselves give imformation to third parties who again,are making big money,for themselves too.
50 years ago when I was an apprentice motor mechanic,if we were worked up for the day,and we had 2 hours of working hours left to finishing time,we would sweep the floors ,tidy up benches ,but book our time onto an insurance job that was in.So its not all new !
