My Waterloo yesterday. I'm driving with my MK1 1700 and without warning my engine was defective. Today I removed the engine and opened. Look the photos. It was a flat head and flat piston engine. A connecting rod bolt is broken. Crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons are damaged. For the repair, I have several options.
1. I have 85mm piston, I can block for drilling (711m, T16)
2. another block bore for +0.20 "TC Piston (i have)
3. I have XR2 Peuel, she marked SDF 2737 (are this steel rods?)
or short steel rods WJ (I hope i did)
4. Standard (nitrided and balanced) or Steel Crank shafts
Cam shaft is a 244, 45 Carbs, Race Head is the spec.
what should I do?
