can only find this one so far. note that whilst the car has two spotlights, the four headlamps are actually recessed into the grill. Early prototype mk2's were experimented with this set up, but ditched in favour of a single headlight set up and the twin set up given over to the RS2000
incidently the car is on the 1976 RAC which Roger won and look hard you will seee that he has signed this one for me (left hand corner). Shot is taken in the forest of dean on the Speech house section

hope it is of use /interest.

Dubious eligibility under the then current FIA Appendix J regs. Presumably why it didnt appear again. Perhaps he should have been excluded......

It was not a popular option with Ford and was purely an experiment for the '76' RAC, - it restricted air flow to the radiator and difficulty in alignment for the correct beam. It did not contravene any regulations as the extra lamps were within the confines of the silhouete of the bodywork when viewed from the front or sides, the additional Cibie spot lamps were exempt from any regs as AUXILARY lighting was 'free'.

                  hope that helps,

Cutting large chunks out of standard body parts or trim in Group2 was not completely free. Yes it seemed a ridiculous experiment that had no benefits and all the drawbacks mentioned - but it was also of doubtful "legality". Now the car that should have won that year.........
