i think it has always been the same , if you build a true condition one /concourse car, the parts are always going to be worth more than the completed vehicle by quite an amount you could easily spend £25k on a car may be even more for concourse whats it worth finnished ?.

i'm bidding on 28 items on ebay and 17 are small and worth about £20 so thats £390 for them so why are they at £660 for them now

i think i will have to just put some not so good items on my car and be done with it

so please when you all see my car later this year it's not as mint as i would like it to be

thats right. i had a pair of vgc gutter trims i started at £1 on ebay and they sold for £102

This will make you all cry and some of you may know already.
I know of someone who bought a MINT MK2 RS2000 at national day a couple of years back just to turn into a rally car!!

The worst is that he binned everything bar the shell as he couldn't be bothered to sell the bits off, (yes he is loaded)!!

I too find the prices daft, I sold my base model RS2000 MK2 in 2001 for £1800, it was rough needing arches and paint but still on the road taxed and tested, what it would be worth now I don't know!!
I sold a built rally shell at the same time for £1000 aswell....

So yes I agree the prices are bonkers!!

this is the thing you spend all your money on a mk2 escort and it's not worth half what it cost to build it so if it does get stolen you are way out of pocket

i know i love the mk2 escort and i've had them for so many years now but are they worth it in the long run...?...i'm not going to sell mine but it makes you think twice if you know what i mean

just thinking about it a bit more it's better to save your money and buy a nice car on ebay for £12k to £14k or a car for about £8k as there seems to be alot on ebay each week. this will give you a big saving on a resto.
