We made a start on the main winter project today, Westfield SE fitted with tired 1600 CVH on 40's wouldn't have been long for this world as sump found to be full of bits of metal and alloy dust in the oil. Zetec prepped and dummy fitted with zetec 2 part sump initially, but will have to either modify 1600 cvh sump to clear oil pump at the front or find an 1800 Sierra sump, zetec flywheel and clutch fit fine, but starter disna clear zetec lower sump flange, gotta check the cvh starter on the zetec flywheel as it's got the trigger wheel on the back for the crank sensor, ring gears are the same teeth and diameter, just the throw that might be different. Also had to use RS Turbo oil filter to clear steering column and will need to make up new o/s engine mount and go one set of holes towards the rear to mount so |I can use the zetec alternator and bracket, n/s bracket just needed a wee trim to fit round water pump.
