  • Essex boys on tour today

We had an early start this morning, up at 5am for a flight from Stanstead to Glasgow.

On landing we got a lift to see this :

Here being demonstrated by it's owner.

    Out in the daylight:

Gary was quite taken with it, so he got out his dinner money and gave the nice man all of it We drove to the local garage to fill up with juice.

Stocked with "Suitable" provisions we set off :

A long way from home, we found out the sat nav was rubbish

So we went in search of inspiration (in the form of a proper map) but while I was looking for one, Gary remembered he needed to load the map onto his sat nav so it would know where we were

Now properly on the way we saw some local landmarks, here is some rock and some grass :

    Cheers Rob.

Bored with sitting in the back, I took to photographing road signs :

Glyn decided the car needed to be de-stickered, so he and I peeled off all of those we could reach, Glyn re-arranged them into a comedy knob on the inside of the sunroof.

(I had nothing to do with this, and did not suggest folding the RSOC membership sticker into the shape you see here - just like another sort of member )

Our in car hi fidelity sound system came courtesy of Glyns rucksack, and consisted of an MP3 phone, some travel speakers and two TOAD alarm stickers ( previously employed as some s**** on the sunroof) to hold it all in place.

    Cheers Rob.

Another interesting road sign we saw today

View from the back seat :

We stopped for a comfort break and decided to check the oil etc :

I got upgraded to "Shotgun" at this point, for a much better view of all upcoming roadsigns :

          Here are some cones :

          Cheers Rob.

Here's a nice digger, this is why all the cones were on the M6 today :

We ****ed past this old geezer in third, he stood no chance

I think we must have woken him up because soon he went all noisy and fast straight past us and into the distance :

We stopped for fuel and I took another picture of some sky and some grass :

Here's one of some water :

And a space station crashed by the side of the road :

              Cheers Rob.

                FPML

Did you stop at every Service Station on the M74/M6???

                Toddington, Tebay, Lancaster

Was the car hungry for fuel or the passangers just hungry?

                Cheers

Here's an "Arty" shot of the sun behind a cloud.

It looked much better before I took the photo

You had to be there I suppose.

The I saw this nice sign :

Shortly afterwards I took over driving, so no more photos, but we had a nice Kentucky at the Corley services on the M6, and then headed down the A14/M11 to Stansted to rescue Garys other car.
                  Cheers Rob.

Back at the airport, 15 hours after we left it

The heater doesn't work, but Glyns new Ford top kept him slightly above freezing :

And finally here it is with the other one

                    Cheers Rob.

just a bit interested, how much petrol did you have to buy to do the journey home. reason being i nearly bought one near aberdeen and was planning to drive it back and just curious at the cost.

looked a good day out for you boys, and i look forward to seeing the car soon out and about in essex.
