The sad thing is that if they are that determined to take it they will get round most of the security we put in place to protect our cars. The only thing we can do have enough security to slow them down and increase the risk to them of getting caught.

not good news, gutted for the guy, it would be hard to sell parts from this on as not many rs1800 parts available as such...........

You would hope so, but in reality there are too many people that won't ask questions if the right parts come up at the right price

As an example if a Rear Boot Spoiler is offered for sale at £400 (presuming it's in excellent condition) who is to know that it's from an RS2000, Mexico or this car (or another RS that has been stolen in the last year)?

Unfortunately a lot of the parts are indistinguishable between any of the RS models and there are so few identifying numbers on old cars to know where they came from
                            Cheers

As I said I would think this is stolen to order and not a normal car theft

Any one who is offered a RS1800 engine must know its not something that comes up every day

As for the shell it will be striped down all the part disposed of via various sales and even the shell if painted could be sold on

These are not opertunist theves but some one who is well aware of the value of such items

As Matin so rightly says there are to many who will take the parts at knock down prices and say nothing

Haveing said all that lets all hope it turns up in one peice
