Tax exempt question ????

    If your v5 has a registered date in 1974 then you can tax it at the post office free but if your car was registered in 1975 but built in 1974 you will need to get proof of this and send off your v5 to get changed

                    Yes, anything built in 74 will become tax exempt this April, so a car built in 76 will become exempt in April 2017 - unless anything changes

                        The rollover date lags behind until the 1st of April when they catch up with the build date of Jan '75.

                        EG some historic cars could be 40yrs and 3 months before gaining historic tax class.

                            Even though my car is just approaching 41 years, I still isn't exempt until April 1st

                              Sry of course you are right..... I try not to think too much about things over 40 as I seem to be about the same age as your car, and I might end up turning into one of those mid life crises blokes
